146 JEHUDAH HALEVI

Behold clear witnesses are Thine: they fill

every mountain and hill;
For upon every creature's form there is of God

a seal and a token,
And the shining of all the lights—the shining
of seven for seven.

Even as He made of the seven lamps seven

constellations,
So maketh He men ^,s eyes luminaries to look
upon the Light.
