THE BRIDE THAT LONGETH FOR THEE

She goeth out to meet Thee—the bride that
longeth for Thee.

Since the day she could no more supplicate

in Thy sanctuary, she hath pined for Thee.

She is abashed each time she would be going
up to the holy mount,

For she seeth that strangers go up, but not
she.

And she standeth afar off, worshipping toward

Thy Temple from every place whither she is
exiled.

The words of her entreaty she sendeth, an
offering to Thee,

While she hangeth her heart and her eyes
upon Thy throne.

Look Thou and listen and hear her cry:

She is calling in the bitterness of her heart and
p_s. 84,3. her fainting soul.
